I am Howard Kessa, and I am at the start of this.
That is the honest position, and you would work it out in about a minute anyway, so it may as well be the first thing on the page.
What I actually do
I build websites for local businesses in West Palm Beach, Florida, from scratch, in code I write myself. No page builder, no bought template, and nothing you keep paying a licence for after I am gone.
I am also a photographer, which is why I go on about photographs so much on the rest of this site. I have watched good businesses put a stock photo of somebody else’s shop on their own front page, and I know exactly what it costs them.
Why the first two are free
Because I have no local clients to show you yet. I could have filled this website with demonstration sites for invented businesses, and for a while it did exactly that. Then I looked at it the way you would: a barber called Fade & Blade that does not exist, in a town that is not this one, with no way to click through to anything real.
So it is gone. Two real West Palm Beach businesses, built properly and put on this page with their names on, are worth more to me than a portfolio of things I made up. That is the entire reason the first two cost nothing.
What I am not
I am not an agency, and there is no team behind this. You get me, which means you can ring me and I answer, and it also means I can only build one of these at a time. That is why the count on the front page is a real number.
I do not sell ads, SEO retainers or rebrands. I build the site, hand you the keys, and keep it running for $49 a month if you want that. If you do not, the site is still yours and it still works.
Where I work
West Palm Beach, Florida, and about twelve miles around it. Close enough to drive to you, because turning up matters and because I would rather photograph your shop than describe it over email.
What you can hold me to
Four promises, in plain words
- The domain and hosting go in your name. Not mine. You can move the site anywhere, any time, without asking me.
- There is no licence. Nothing on your site stops working because you stopped paying me.
- I will tell you when you do not need me. If your current site is fine, or you would get more from spending the money on photographs, I will say so and we will both save a week.
- A testimonial is never owed. On the free builds, if you do not love it, you keep the site and write nothing.
